IMAGE PROCESSING REFERENCE
Calculate the block grid produced by square pixelation and see how much source image area each block represents.
| Result | Value |
|---|---|
| Block columns | 160 |
| Block rows | 90 |
| Total blocks | 14,400 |
| Pixels in a full block | 144 |
For an image W pixels wide and H pixels tall, a block size of B produces ceil(W/B) columns and ceil(H/B) rows. The final blocks at the right and bottom edges can be smaller than B because the engine clips them to the image boundary.
columns = ceil(width / blockSize) rows = ceil(height / blockSize) blocks = columns × rowsFileTools' pixelation engine then averages the RGBA values inside each block and writes that average colour across the block.
A larger mosaic usually removes more visible detail, but no particular block size should be treated as a universal guarantee that text, faces or other information cannot be inferred. For credentials and secrets, use an opaque flattened redaction instead of relying on pixelation.
